Headlining the Horns!

Posted on May 17th, 2023

The Horns has become like home to us as a band. We've been playing the open mic there since we started, and it holds a special place in our hearts. Needless to say, we were very excited to headline the venue, and play with Velour Fog, and Acid Hound. Unfortunately Velour Fog had to pull out, but Acid Hound still put on a fantastic show, and we were able to fill enough time by de-dusting some covers we haven't played in ages

We also got to use our own drumkit for the first time, and discovered that it actually used to belong to The Horns' house drummer, who was eager to set it up again, for old times sake. The world is remarkably small

All in all, a fantastic gig!

Metal Night at The Half Moon

Posted on April 1st, 2023

Our first jaunt to Bishop's Stortford saw us tread the boards once again with our friends in Sentient, and many other awesome acts such as Skarlet Envy, Spring Clean and Elysian Devide. We also arranged a special duet between Joe, and...Also Joe (Joe JB Burton) of Sentient, where they shared vocals on our cover of Pantera's "Domination". We look forward to seeing you all at our next gig on May 11th, at our Watford home away from home, The Horns, where we'll be playing again with Velour Fog...

Metal Night at The Exchange

Posted on April 1st, 2023

Our latest escapade saw us journey to good ole' Hertford town.  After loading in our gear, and taking in the absolute enormity that is The Hertford Corn Exchange, we took to the stage between War Torn Wings, and Far from Refuge. We had the rare pleasure of both enjoying attending a gig, and playing one. War torn Wings absolutely smashed it, and gave us all the more reason to play our hearts out. After our set, we got to watch Far From Refuge give it their all, and finally Sentient, who, at the last minute, decided to bring out a Pantera cover, citing us as the inspiration, before thanking all the bands, and venue staff, for their hard work. We hope it's the beginning of a long comradery with our fellow Herts metallers. We're playing with Sentient again at our next gig on                        April 15th, at the Half Moon in Bishop's Stortford...

We hope to see you all there!

Trust the Doc rocked the Odds

Posted on March 8th, 2023

Our highly anticipated gig Hosted by Trust The Doc Media, at The Odds in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, was absolutely phenomenal! The nerves of debuting 3 new originals quickly gave way to crowd driven euphoria. We're humbled and grateful at the response to "Killing Blow", "Forgotten Dust" and "Bleeding in the Dark", and we can't wait to perform for you all again at The Corn Exchange in Hertford, with Juicebox Live, on March 29th. We look forward to seeing you all there...

                 Spring time shows!

Posted on February 17th, 2023

Spring 2023 is in for the ride of it's life! Paradigm have booked themselves into quite a few venues over the next few weeks, with some yet to be confirmed! The band have been very hard at work with their original material, with two songs in particular, becoming the focus of their attention. The hope is that these tracks will be a good fit to kick off their round of spring gigs with a bang, starting with The Oddfellows arms on March the 6th, in association with Trust the Doc Media and Demerara Records, performing alongside Steely and The Bandits, and The Shantleys, the latter of whom, will be playing a special set as a duo. New Paradigm material? Young indie rockers? An exclusive duo set? What's not to like?!

                    A Trip to the Horn

Posted on December 31st, 2022

When a year ends, it should end in style, and where better to end a very successful first year of gigging than The Horn in St. Albans? The venue has been known by multiple names over many decades, playing host to bands in the 60s as The Railway Hotel, becoming The Horn of plenty in the 70s, and The Horn Reborn in the 90s, with names such as Enter Shikari, Friendly Fires, Bastille, Yungblud and The Slaves treading the boards there, among others. A lack of high res photos from this gig, haven't made Paradigm feel any less privileged to have gone from just doing opens mics, to playing a headline gig at this prestigious venue in under a year. 2022 has been very good to us, and we hope 2023 is even better. We have        some exciting projects in the works, and we hope you join us for the ride

Happy new year to you all!

            Friars inn, with Sudokara

Posted on November 2nd, 2022

Fresh off the truck from Leicester, still riding the wave of the Renegades gig, we hit

the stage at The Friars inn, with a lovely band of fellow, young metal marauders, Sudokara. We had an absolute blast playing with them, and really enjoyed their cover of Given Up by Linkin Park, and starting a mini wall of death to their original

material. We've now got some gigs lined up for 2023, and we're hoping to fill up

the ole' calendar as much as we can, so stay tuned for more mayhem from Paradigm in 2023 \m/

Back to Leicester, with the Renegades!

Posted on October 9th, 2022

After our last outing to Leicester with REVenged, we thought we wouldn't be back

until Janurary, but fate had other plans, and we got a slot on October 7th supporting "Renegades of Rage UK", the rage against the machine tribute act, and we had an absolute blast! Lovely bunch of lads, did a great job hyping the crowd up for their set. We hope to return to the Metal Monocle once again for our third outing by Janurary, or, perhaps even sooner, should fate see it fit...

Welcome aboard, Shona!

Posted on October 9th, 2022

Some of you have asked us about the tall, dark haired bass player that started occupying the stage among the other members of Paradigm a month or two ago, so here, at long last, is our official "Welcome to the band" post for the one and      only, Shona Ferguson...

Another Hertfordshire Local, Shona has proven she can deal with the rampant bantering, and musical merriment, found in a Paradigm rehearsal room. Her sense   of humour, and musical talent fit the band like a glove, and we're all looking                                forward to making lots of music with her in the future

Godspeed, T-bone!

Posted on October 9th, 2022

Our amazing Drummer, Taiga, has moved away to university! As a result, he's stepped down from drumming for Paradigm. This has been in the works for years, and we're so pleased to see Taiga's well laid, and long awaited, plans, come to fruition. We hope he manages to achieve everything his heart desires, we certainly know he's capable. Hopefully one day, he'll be able to return, but, until then, Maddie will be stepping down as rhythm guitarist, and taking up the drums in         Taiga's stead, leaving string duties to Zakk, Aaron, and our new bassist,

who'll have a post all of her own.

Godspeed, T-bone! You've got our support, forever \m/

THANK YOU LEICESTER!

Posted on August 8th, 2022

Paradigm's supporting slot at The Metal Monocle with REVenged was an absolute blast! The band had so much fun, and it's an experience we won't forget. The energy of the crowd, enthusiasm of the staff, and encouragement from REVenged was unprecedented. We were nervous to begin our set on this, our furthest out gig to date, and we quickly found out that we need'nt have been. The crowds participation in The Trooper, Master of Puppets and Ballroom Blitz exceeded expectations, and the encoure, we didn't expect as a support act, was the highlight of our set. REVenged went on to do as promised, and kicked all our asses with the power of American Metalcore. It was a pleasure to share the stage with them
Thank you all, and we hope to see you again for more nights like this one

IT'S BEEN A BUSY FEW WEEKS!

Published July 3rd, 2022

Since the success of the Metal Mania show on May 27th, selling over 100 tickets, and playing for close to 2 hours that night, Paradigm has continued firing on all cylinders, playing as many open mics as possible to spread the words of Hard Rock and Metal. During this time, the venue that Paradigm are house band at, and staged Metal Mania from, The Market Arms, has been taken over by Clint Whittaker, the owner of the Monks inn franchise. The Monks inn are a biker bar across the road from the now former Market Arms, and have taken over in a bid to expand their business ventures, rebranding as The Friars Inn. Clint has been amazingly generous to paradigm, completely upgrading the venues sound equipment, and organising rehearsal space with a view to Paradigm putting on a bigger and better show in the coming months.

Now for the less than sweet news. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, Olly Holmes has left Paradigm. However, there are no bad vibes, we are still friends, and we wish him the best. Sometimes, the music world isn't for everybody, and we're happy to see our Brother following his heart. Until a suitable replacement is found, our 3 guitarists will be sharing Bass duties also. This will not adversely affect any upcoming shows
